Jan Molby Critiques Jeremie Frimpong's Liverpool Impact

Jan Molby has not held back in his criticism of Liverpool's Jeremie Frimpong, suggesting the right-back has been underwhelming since his arrival. The 25-year-old joined the Reds last summer but has struggled to make an impact, missing 19 games due to three separate hamstring injuries.

Speaking on Anfield Index, Molby expressed his frustration, saying, "I’ve always been a little bit critical, because look beyond his pace and then tell me where are the top-four Premier League qualities. I don’t see it." He added that Frimpong sometimes behaves like a child on the pitch, lacking the physicality needed for top-flight football.

Molby’s remarks echo a growing sentiment among pundits. Gabby Agbonlahor recently stated that Frimpong's signing "hasn’t worked," criticizing his performance in both defensive and attacking roles. Despite his exciting potential, Frimpong's statistics this season—two goals and two assists in 31 appearances—have left much to be desired, especially considering his prolific contributions at Bayer Leverkusen.
